Alternating Direction Implicit FDTD Methods for solving Maxwell's Curl Equations

Abstract In this talk we survey Alternating Direction Implicit (ADI) methods applied to Maxwell's curl equations in the time domain. We shall discuss accuracy, order, stability and dispersion of various methods and ``fixes'' which have appeared in the literature, as well as our recent results on how to obtain high-order, unconditionally stable methods.
