Continuous Peer Methods for ODEs
Abstract
In the field of numerical methods for ODEs we construct a class of
s-stages Peer Methods of order p=s and their Continuous Extensions.
The continuity of the output of this class of methods allows us to
compute in an easy way the numerical solution and the local error estimate,
not only at the grid point, but all over the integration interval.
This is a very important feature that can be exploited to develop an
efficient technique for stepsize changing during the integration process.
Construction of L-stable methods based on the Schur criterion is
described and examples of methods of order two and three are given.
This is a joint work with Z.Jackiewicz.
