We are happy to announce the first Vienna Summer School on Machine Learning and Optimization (MLOPT) 2019. It will take place at TU Wien in the center of Vienna in July.

Optimization

An overview of the most important optimization problems faced in practice will be given. Methods for their solution as well as available software will be covered. A modeling language convenient for the formulation of problems will be provided.

Machine Learning

An overview of the most important algorithms for deep learning and reinforcement learning will be given. Sample programs in Python and/or Julia will be provided and discussed for selected problems. Participants will have an opportunity to practice after each lesson. No prior knowledge in optimization or machine learning is required. Lecture notes will be provided. A certificate will be awarded for successful completion.
